Here's a sampling of the services available at your Brodhead Memorial Public Library
WiFi

WiFi, wireless internet service is available.  Users need to bring their own WiFi-compliant 802.11b/g wireless laptop to the library.

Internet

Internet stations with access to lazer printer available for registered borrowers.  Visitors may use a temporary pass to access this service.  Cost per print-out, $ .25 for black & white copy, $1.00 for colored copy.

Brodhead Newspapers

Brodhead city newspapers available on microfilm beginning 1859 to December 1999.  Microfilm reader/copier may be used.  Cost per printed page is $ .25.  Orignal Brodhead Independent Register papers available 2000 to the present.

Copy machine

Copy machine available for public use.  Cost per page is $ .20

Interlibrary loan

Registered card holders may request material not owned by the library.  There is no charge for this service.

Summer Reading Program

A summer reading program is offered to school age readers every summer beginning in June.  Reading incentives, crafts, and special programs are offered at no cost to the readers. 

Story time

Story time for preschoolers is offered from September to April.  Time and date may vary.

LINKcat

The library is part of a shared automation system.  An online catalog for card holders is available at http://www.linkcat.info.  Over 3 million items are available in this catalog.  A registered borrower may place holds on line or at the library and the item will be delivered to the Brodhead Library at no charge.  Items may be renewed or personal accounts may be reviewed online, too.

Collection

The library currently ownes over 44,000 items for people to borrow.  This collection includes books, audio books on CD and cassettes, CDroms, Large print books, videos, DVDs, children's puzzles, puppets, magazines, and music CDs for adults and children.

Online databases

Online databases are offered through LINKcat.  Information on business, genealogy, consumers, readers, health and student and teachers is available by clicking on the "Online Databases" tab in LINKcat. 

New materials

Lists of new materials, bestsellers, award winners, etc. are available by accessing LINKcat and clicking on "Don't Miss List" tab.

Overdrive

Wisconsin Public Library Consortium offers a digital download center at http://dbooks.wplc.info.

Browse and search hundreds of music titles, audio books and videos.  You may download up to six items at a time to your computer or transfer them to a portable device for your listening pleasure.
